Day 2: The Season of Generosity

Dec 2, 2025

Day 2: The Season of Generosity

Scripture: Luke 3:11 - "John answered, 'Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.'"

Reflection: Generosity is a cornerstone of the Advent season, reflecting God’s ultimate gift to humanity, Jesus Christ. John the Baptist's call to share what we have with those in need reminds us that generosity transforms people's lives. When we open our hands and hearts, we imitate God's love, spreading kindness and compassion in our communities.

Generosity goes beyond material possessions. It includes offering our time, our love, and our understanding. In a world often consumed by taking rather than giving, living generously shines a light that leads others to Jesus. This Advent, consider ways to enact generosity in your daily life, perhaps by offering a listening ear to someone in distress or volunteering at FW. Remember, every act of generosity, no matter how small, comes from a spirit of love and service that pleases God.

Action Item: Find one way to give generously today, whether it’s donating to the food pantry or Toy Shop, making cookies for a neighbor, or spending meaningful time with someone who needs it.

Prayer: Father, open my heart to generosity. Help me to see how I can share Your love with others this Advent season. Amen.

*Today is Giving Tuesday, a day focused on generosity. If you feel led, we invite you to consider giving to Fresh Wind as part of celebrating this day.
