Day 7: Preparing with Joy
Day 7: Preparing with Joy
Scripture: Isaiah 40:5 - "And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together."
Reflection: The ultimate aim of Advent preparation is the readiness to behold God's glory revealed through Jesus. So often, the busyness of the season detracts from the joy and wonder meant to permeate our preparations. Choosing to focus on the joy of the Lord doesn’t negate life's challenges but transforms our experiences by seeing them through God's hope-filled lens.
When God's glory shines brightly in a heart openly expecting Him, that joy is contagious. It changes how we interact with the world, our loved ones and even strangers. Embracing joy bridges the gap between expectation and celebration, between prophecy and fulfillment. This Advent, invite joy into your preparations and relationships, becoming a beacon pointing others to the reason for the season.
Action Item: Spend time outside today appreciating God’s creation. Let each sight remind you of God’s glory and His promise of salvation.
Prayer: Lord, as I prepare for Your coming, let joy fill my heart. Help me to see Your glory revealed in the world around me and to share that joy with others. Amen.
