Day 3: Dependence on God
Day 3: Dependence on God
Scripture: Luke 3:13 - "'Don’t collect any more than you are required to,' he told them."
Reflection: In the hustle and bustle of preparing for Christmas, it's easy to feel that everything depends on us, our efforts, our plans, and our abilities. Yet, John the Baptist urges us to shift our focus from self-reliance to dependence on God. By trusting God to meet our needs, we leave room for divine providence in our lives.
Dependence on God means recognizing His sovereignty and faithfully relying on His promises, even when circumstances seem daunting. It’s an invitation to release our worries, knowing God holds our future. As we prepare for Jesus this Advent, let go of the need to control every detail. Trust that God is at work, guiding us in love. By doing so, we gain peace and assurance amidst the chaos of life, remembering that God provides all we truly need.
Action Item: Today, let go of one worry by praying and leaving it with God. Trust Him to handle what seems too big for you to carry alone.
Prayer: God, I rely on You. Help me to trust in Your provision and depend less on my efforts alone. Teach me to rest in Your care. Amen.
