Day 5: Clearing the Clutter

Scripture: Isaiah 40:4 (NIV) - "Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low."

Reflection: Imagine trying to roller skate on a rocky path. It would be pretty tricky, right? Isaiah’s message is all about making our hearts ready and smooth for Jesus. Sometimes, our lives feel bumpy with worries, fears, or too many activities. Advent is the perfect time to pause and think about clearing those worries out, creating a smooth path for Jesus to enter our hearts.

Clearing the clutter doesn't mean making everything perfect; it means making space for what truly matters. By trusting Jesus with our troubles, we invite Him to smooth over those bumpiness with His love and peace. When we do this, we open a wonderful path right to our hearts for Him to fill with joy and hope. As we admire the twinkling lights this Christmas season, let's remember to invite Jesus to light up our hearts with His presence, preparing us in His love for this joyful occasion.

Family Activity: Write a worry or distraction on a paper. Fold it and put it in a "God Box," a special box to leave your worries with Jesus, trusting Him to take care of them.

Prayer: Dear God, help us clear out any worries for You. Make our hearts smooth and ready for Jesus. Amen.
