Day 6: Finding Joy in the Journey

Scripture: Luke 3:4 (NIV) - "Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him."

Reflection: Imagine going on a road trip to your favorite place in the world. As much as you look forward to getting there, the journey is filled with laughter, games, and stories, making it just as much fun. That's what Advent is like! Each day brings us closer to Christmas, a time filled with the love of Jesus, and while we're waiting, we find joy in getting ready and enjoying the days leading up to it.

John the Baptist tells us to prepare the way, reminding us that adventuring with Jesus is part of the excitement. We engage in activities like singing Christmas carols, baking goodies, and decorating our homes, each a step along our Advent journey. As we do these things, let's remember that this time of preparation is a chance to deepen our connection with Jesus, experiencing joy and love with every candle we light and every hug we give.

Family Activity: Take a family walk or drive. Talk about how you're getting ready for Jesus and ways to make this Advent special and joyful.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for this Advent journey. Help us find joy in each day and welcome You with happy hearts. Amen.
