FAMILY Day 4: The Gift of Dependence
Day 4: The Gift of Dependence
Scripture: Romans 5:6 (NIV) - "Christ died for the ungodly."
Reflection: Have you ever depended on someone to help you reach something high or explain something confusing? Just like that, God wants us to depend on Him every day. Advent reminds us that Jesus came into the world because He loves us and wants to be with us through everything. When we trust Him, it’s like we're holding onto the strongest hand that won’t ever let go.
Dependence means knowing that we don’t have to do everything on our own, because Jesus is there to guide us. It’s like having a warm, protective hug during a scary movie. Jesus is our help when we face tough times, and our cheerleader when we celebrate happy moments. During Advent, let's practice depending on Him by talking to Him in prayer, sharing our worries, and discovering the peace and love He offers, just as God planned from the start.
Family Activity: Make a "God's Timing" timeline. Draw or write about times when Jesus helped your family. Talk about how trusting Him brings peace.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for holding our hands. Help us trust You always. Amen.
