Day 19: Extra Mile Love

Scripture: Matthew 5:41

"If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles."

Reflection:

Jesus taught us about going the extra mile, not just doing the minimum required but exceeding expectations with love. It's about showing love in unexpected and extraordinary ways. Think about a time when someone did something kind for you that really surprised you and made you happy. Imagine how powerful it is to do the same for others. Discuss what it means to be "extra mile" people in your own lives. How can each family member show kindness beyond what's expected at school, work, or among friends? Going the extra mile doesn't have to be big or daunting. Even small acts, like helping with chores before being asked, offering a shoulder to lean on, or being the first to forgive, can make a huge impact. Reflecting on these actions during Advent can prepare our hearts to welcome Him with love and joy.

Family Activity:

Choose someone in your neighborhood or community who could use a little extra love. Write them a note, draw them a picture, bake them cookies, or offer to help in some way. Reflect on how it feels to give more than what’s expected and why this pleases God.

Prayer:

Jesus, teach us to love as You love, abundantly and generously. Let us be known as a family that goes the extra mile for others. Amen.
