DAY 22: Expect Great Joy!
Day 22: Expect Great Joy!
Scripture:Luke 2:10-11 (NIV): "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'"
Reflection:
The night Jesus was born, angels visited shepherds with the most amazing news. They told the shepherds about a special baby born in Bethlehem who would bring great joy to everyone. This wasn't just a little bit of happiness; it was a fantastic joy that fills our hearts because Jesus came to be our Savior. He came to show God's love and give us joy that lasts, even when things are tough or don't go our way. As we prepare for Christmas, let's think about Jesus and the incredible joy He brings to our lives. Every time we hear the word "joy," let's remember it's not just for a moment, but for forever with Jesus!
Family Activity:
Today, take a walk outside as a family. As you walk, think about times in your life where you felt great joy. Take turns sharing these moments with each other. Discuss how Jesus is the greatest joy in your life.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for bringing great joy to our lives. Help us to focus on You this Advent season and fill our hearts with Your joy, no matter what's happening around us. Amen.
